Aims and Scope

Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis, Philologica is a peer-reviewed scientific journal founded in 2021 by the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education (University).

The aim of the journal is to present and disseminate the results of contemporary research in Ukrainian, Hungarian, and international philology, as well as to provide a platform for current trends and methodological developments in linguistics and literary studies.

The journal plays an important role in stimulating scholarly discourse, fostering dialogue between different linguistic, literary, and academic communities, and supporting the integration of young researchers into the scientific sphere. It provides opportunities for the next generation of scholars by regularly publishing articles and reviews authored by university students from both Ukraine and Hungary.

Further key objectives include ensuring open access to the latest research results, promoting regional and international scientific cooperation, and emphasising the social relevance and applicability of philological research.

Main Topics of the Journal

The journal focuses on current issues in various branches of philology and showcases innovative methods of language and literature teaching worldwide. Its thematic coverage includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Ukrainian language and literature;
  • Hungarian language and literature;
  • Languages and literatures of other nations;
  • General, comparative-historical, and typological linguistics;
  • Translation studies and intercultural communication;
  • Sociolinguistics, language policy, and language planning;

The journal also welcomes submissions on other topics relevant to philological research.

Acta Academiae Beregsasiensis, Philologica publishes original research articles, theoretical studies, case studies, book reviews, and other scholarly publications.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo independent double-blind peer review and are checked for plagiarism.

The Editorial Board consists of distinguished Ukrainian and international experts who ensure the scholarly quality and objective evaluation of all submissions.

The Editorial Board invites scholars, researchers, university lecturers, early-career researchers (including PhD students), and other professionals engaged in philological research to participate in the peer review process and contribute their studies for publication.

The journal follows the principles of Open Access, supporting the free dissemination of scientific knowledge and the global exchange of ideas for the benefit of science and society.
